Storage and site count: If you’re running multiple sites (marketing site, docs, staging environments), storage and site-count limits factor into which tier actually fits your setup.

CDN bandwidth: Sites with heavy image or media content consume CDN bandwidth faster, which can push toward a higher tier even with moderate visit counts.

PHP worker allocation: Higher tiers generally include more concurrent PHP workers, which matters most for sites with authenticated dashboards or dynamic content that can’t be served from cache.

It’s tempting to select a higher tier upfront in anticipation of future growth, but since upgrading is generally a straightforward plan change rather than a migration, there’s little reason to pay for capacity you don’t currently need. Start with a plan sized to your actual current traffic, with reasonable headroom for expected near-term growth, and upgrade when the data shows you’re actually approaching limits.

It’s also worth checking your analytics before committing to a tier rather than guessing at monthly visit volume. Most teams either significantly overestimate or underestimate their actual traffic when sizing a hosting plan from memory — pulling the real number from Google Analytics or a similar tool takes a few minutes and removes the guesswork entirely.
